Coral Shipping, Guarantees, and Acclimation
Coral Shipping and Arrive Alive Guarantee
We currently ship coral on a limited basis only when pre-arranged with customers.
$49 flat rate shipping. Minimum coral order for shipping is $249, free shipping at $399.
All corals are happy and healthy when shipped, and guaranteed to arrive alive.
All live items are shipped UPS Next Day Air, Monday-Wednesday and usually arrive by Noon. Certain remote areas are delivered later in the day. We package to ensure the safe arrival of your live coral. In the unlikely event of a DOA (Dead on Arrival), you must send a very clear digital photo within 2 hours of delivery. If you are not present to accept and evaluate the corals within this 2-hour window, our arrive-alive guarantee is void. We may ask for you to ship back the deceased animal, so please do not dispose of it. Once we receive the digital photo, and we receive the deceased coral (if applicable), we will issue a store credit or refund. Credit or refund does not include shipping costs, which are not refundable under any circumstances.
ReefEco cannot be held responsible for mechanical or weather delays that may cause your UPS shipment to arrive late. We can hold corals for up to one week once payment has been received, unless other arrangements are agreed upon. Beyond that, we are not responsible for the coral, and cannot guarantee replacement of the same coral purchased. We are not responsible for incorrect addresses provided by the buyer.
All purchases assume the customer has intermediate to advanced reefing experience. We are not responsible for errors in acclimation, general care (over or under lighting, water flow, water chemistry, temperature, or inter species coral aggression). Necessarily we can not take responsibility for your coral after it is added to your system, given the many variables inherent in lighting, water parameters, and water flow. General lighting and flow requirements are listed on every coral's page, and our water parameters are located here. If you have questions about your coral, please ask - we are here to help!
Acclimation
Float your corals still in bags for 15 minutes for temp acclimation, then add to tank. It is important to NOT float your corals in bags under any lighting, as this can cause a greenhouse effect and heat the corals in the bags. If dipping you corals, temp acclimate first then dip in the tank water to which you will be adding the corals. Drip acclimation is only advisable if you PH is more than 0.3 away from 8.2, or salinity is not within normal reef tank parameters for some reason (1.026 or 35ppt) in which case it should be adjusted accordingly. We advise dipping SPS in Bayer Advanced only (do not use Coral Rx or Revive). Torches, Hammers, and other fleshy LPS should be dipped in iodine-based coral dips only - not Bayer. Other LPS such as chalices, or softies such as zoas can be dipped in your dip of choice.
